The Hydraulic Institute (HI) has announced the winner of the Young Engineer of the Year award at its annual conference.
Nidec Motor Corporation, Product Manager, Patrick Hogg, has been selected as HI’s Young Engineer of the Year due to his high level of commitment and volunteerism to the pump manufacturing industry.
The Young Engineer award was established to recognise the efforts and contributions of engineers from member companies and Standard Partners who have made a significant impact within their current position and have also contributed to the advancement of the work of the Hydraulic Institute.
Engineers under the age of 40, as of January 1 the year of nomination, are eligible for the award.
Mr Hogg has been involved with HI since 2013, is a member of 10 committees and is an educational webinar instructor.
He is also the Chairman of Drivers Application Guidebook, the Vice Chairman (HI 40.5) of the Pump and Extended Product Labeling Committee and the Sub-committee leader of the Drivers Sub-committee Variable Speed Pumping Guidebook.
Hydraulic Institute’s Technical Director, Peter Gaydon, said, “Patrick has a passion for committee work and in a short amount of time has become an integral member of many committees.
“Patrick should be commended for his level of commitment and volunteerism to the industry and he truly represents the future of the Hydraulic Institute.”
