SubZero Group’s Infrastructure and Poly division has signed a $5.9 million contract with BHP Billiton to upgrade part of the water network at the Mt Arthur Coal mine.

The project is part of the decommissioning of the main dam water network at Mt Arthur Coal. SubZero’s scope of work includes supply and installation of 25kms of poly pipe and relocating pumps and pontoons and all associated earthworks. The works began on Wednesday 10 April 2013.

Mr Scott Farrell, SubZero Group’s Managing Director, commented on the contract:

‘SubZero Group has provided mining support services to Mt Arthur Coal for more than 10 years. During this period we have delivered a comprehensive range of services to the mining operation and look forward to continuing to work at the mine during this project.’
